Where are you located?

Noble Roots is located in Fort Langley at Tiffani's home studio. The address is 8978 Trattle street. Feel free to park in the driveway and wait in your vehicle, or take a seat on the chair outside the door. Tiffani will invite you in a few minutes before the start of your session. 

How long is a session?

Sessions are 50 minutes or 75 minutes for an Individual session. 60 or 90 minutes for couple sessions. Options will be indicated on the Jane online booking site. To make the most of the time, please do your best to be on time as late start sessions will end at the scheduled time.

How many sessions can I expect to attend?

The number of sessions depends on you.  Many people come to counselling with a specific issue they want to address and once they are feeling relief or more able to cope, they discontinue. Others make counselling an ongoing part of their health regimen. This is often a topic for discussion during the complimentary 15 minute phone consultation or during the first session . 

Do I need to prepare anything for the first session?

You do not need to prepare anything.  It is normal to feel an array of feelings leading up to your first (and even subsequent) appointments. Some report feeling nervous or anxious, excited, or even happy. It may be helpful simply to notice your feelings in the lead up, and try not to think too much about it. The experience is most meaningful when clients can access or work toward presence. 

How often do I attend therapy once I have started?

This number of sessions depends on many factors like the urgency of presenting problem, time/scheduling, financial situation/coverage.  However, it is recommended that in most cases, at the beginning of the process, once per week or every two weeks is sufficient.  Leaving too much time between sessions can lead to the loss of momentum and motivation.  Therapy is like exercise in that progress will become more obvious if we take part regularly.  However, it is also beneficial to leave at least a few days between sessions so that you have time to digest the work that has been done and give it a chance to play out in life outside of the counselling room.

What are your fees?

Counselling fees are $135/session for individuals (50 minutes), $165 for couple counselling (60 minutes). All rates are subject to 5% GST. 

Payment is preferred through the Jane app (which is the online booking system). Once you book an appointment, please add your credit card to your Jane profile. This is the most secure and efficient way to make your payment. Or you can pay via e-transfer. E-transfers are required prior to appointments. 

Are your services covered?

Counselling offered by Registered Clinical Counsellors is often covered through extended medical plans. Please check with your medical plan to see if you are covered.  A receipt with Tiffani's registration number will be provided. 

Is what we talk about confidential?

What is spoken about is definitely confidential (except in the rare case of concern by the therapist that someone is in immediate danger). Establishing an environment of safety where you can share absolutely anything is a priority. Everything that you share, no matter how taboo or “abnormal” you, or society, feel it is, will be listened to and unconditionally accepted non-judgmentally. Tiffani approaches her work with open-minded curiosity and respect.  

What type of counselling do you practice?

Tiffani uses Gestalt therapy and Buddhist Psychology theories as the foundation of her work. She incorporates Mindful Embodiment, Trauma Informed Trauma Sensitive Yoga Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, and Attachment theory. She may or may not use all of these approaches depending on client therapy purpose, and on what emerges in session. 

What if I need to cancel a session?

If you cannot make it to a session, please cancel at least 24 hours ahead of time.  There are a limited number of appointment spaces available in a week and there are likely others who would like to use your appointment time.  It is difficult to fill the space within 24 hours of cancelling, so the policy is to charge the full price of a session for missed appointments or appointments that are cancelled within 24 hours of the appointment time.
